Mental Health Matters: Group Therapy Sessions Making a Difference in Sango
In the quiet corners of rural Kenya, mental health often goes unspoken. Yet many of the children we serve at Nyarsango face grief, trauma, poverty, and loneliness.
That’s why we introduced group therapy and mentorship programs. Each week, small groups of youth meet with a trained counselor to talk, share, and learn coping tools. We use art, storytelling, and games to foster openness and healing.
Children like John, who lost both parents, have found a new sense of purpose and peace through these sessions. One of our mentors shared, “When they realize they are not alone in their pain, that’s when the healing begins.”
Mental health is essential for learning and living. With your help, we can expand these services to reach more children and even offer one-on-one counseling for those in deep need
